Wildlife whales should be treated with more respect.
The shallow waters of Stellwagen Bank attract a variety of whales and dolphins. Three endangered species the finback whale, North Atlantic right whale , humpback whale. Other marine animals the basking shark, Atlantic White-sided dolphin seen in groups from offshore waters to near Cape Cod, Provincetown shore.
The Sanctuary encompasses approximately 638 square nautical miles.

Most of the pollution arises from chemicals from ships, trash disposal at sea, airborne contaminants, sewage and garbage, industrial wastes and toxic contaminants
